Cookie Notice

CelebHot sets no cookies of its own; here is what it stores locally and how to clear it.

CelebHot's demo version does not set any cookies of its own. It does use your browser's localStorage, which works similarly, so here is a clear account of what is stored and how to remove it.

What we store locally

These keys live only in your browser and are never sent to a server by us.

  • theme: your light or dark preference.
  • saved: the stories you chose to save.
  • poll:*: your answers on polls, one key per poll.
  • react:*: your reactions on stories, one key per story.
  • newsletter: the email you entered in the newsletter box.
  • vip-waitlist: the email you entered for the VIP waitlist.

In practice, localStorage differs from a cookie in one useful way: it is not attached to requests sent to a server. The values above are read by the page's own scripts on your device and are used only to make the site feel familiar when you return, such as remembering that you prefer dark mode.

Third-party requests

We do not run analytics or advertising. However, loading the page means your browser requests resources from outside services, including Google Fonts, the Tailwind CDN and hot-linked images. Those providers may handle requests, and any cookies they might set, under their own policies, which we do not control.

How to clear it

You are always in control. To remove what CelebHot has saved:

  1. Open your browser's settings and find the privacy or site data section.
  2. Search for this site.
  3. Choose to clear its stored data and local storage.

Your saved stories, votes, reactions, theme and stored emails will reset. You can also use private browsing, which clears them when the window closes.

Changes

If we ever add cookies, analytics or advertising, this notice will be updated first. Questions are welcome at [email protected], a placeholder address for this demo.

We do not use any cookie banner because there is nothing of ours to consent to, though your browser may still offer its own controls.
